Moving in Uptown Dallas: What Actually Matters
Studio and one-bedroom apartments dominate, with two-bedrooms and the occasional penthouse. Elevator time — not square footage — is usually what sets the clock.
Loading docks, not driveways
Most Uptown buildings route movers through a service entrance and a dedicated freight elevator rather than the front door. That elevator usually has to be reserved in advance, often in a fixed 2–4 hour block.
Certificate of insurance required
Uptown property managers routinely ask for a COI naming the building as additional insured before they will release the elevator. We issue these at no charge — send us the building's requirements and we handle it directly with management.
Street parking is the constraint
McKinney, Routh, Allen and the side streets off Cedar Springs have limited curb space and active traffic. Where a building has no dock, the truck stages as close as the property allows and the crew carries the difference.
Mostly studios to two-bedrooms
