Tips to Make Moving Furniture Easier
Measure and Measure Again- one of the biggest mistakes we see when we help clients move is making a mistake with measurements. When you are talking about moving a heavy dresser down the hallway or trying to maneuver a piano out the front door, a quarter of an inch can mean the difference between fitting and not fitting. So, measure and double and then triple check those measurements to make sure they are accurate.

Bag Up Small Parts- if you have furniture pieces that need to be taken apart for the move and have many small pieces, pegs, screws, bolts, and brackets it can be very frustrating to get to your new home and not be able to find them. Put small pieces in a bag and tape or tie it to the furniture piece somehow so you know right where it is. This way you will be able to put the piece back together quickly and easily later on.
Label Boxes and Bags- if you have furniture you are boxing up or putting in bags to protect them during the move, take the extra minute or two and label them. This way you can easily find what you are looking for and don’t have to unbox and open every bag to find the one piece you are looking for in the truck. Investing a little time on this now will save you from the stress down the road when the move is over.
